Chillaxing In FiDi, 03/01/11, NY, NY

Wake at 8.

wnycscotts_mg_6502 I eat in the common area downstairs where a small continental breakfast is available, watching the occupants pour out into the streets on their way to Tuesday morning work. Sometimes I think it would be grand to have a regular job.

This is an amazing place (condos) . I spend the morning and early afternoon typing my notes from the C3 conference.

A recap of the conference where I learned the following: wnyctrinityscotty_mg_6530

Scott ad I  hit lunch Zeytuna.

Walk back to his place and go out on the deck of the 24th floor. Take a couple photos from the roof of Trinity Church nestled in the belly of Wall Street. Think about these pictures.

Teach Mario and and his sister a little post production in the 24th floor lounge.

Scott and I meet singer Ruth Sinclair. She is really sweet and personable. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Ruth-Sinclair/75798885690 In the course of our conversation, I mention her pregnancy. She is not pregnant.

Foot in mouth. wnyctrinityscotty_xg5z6695

Scott and walk to a Italian restaurant in TriBeCa and meet Christine, a pretty blond friend of Scotts.

We spill beer on her new shoes.

She is not happy. But gets into the night. We all have a good time. Christine attracts christine_mg_6588 Peter to the table by asking if he is incontinent at the bathroom line..

Peter turns out to be fun and buys drinks for all.

He is enamored by Christine. She is  a Libra.

He is partners with Gerrard who owns the restaurant – Gerrard comes over and threatens to put us all in his car and bury us in Brooklyn – Italians!

The restaurant is the reigning Brooklyn meatball champion – we are shown the trophy to prove it.

Christine calls it a night.

bancrupt_mg_6578 Scott and I  end up next door at a bar with Peter, Girrard and Shana (the bar owner) having drinks. Eventually we leave, Scott has a photo of him from his birthday that was at the bar – a photo of him on some shirtless stallion’s body.

We walk back to his place stopping to get a slice of peperoni.

Its New York.

It was a casual day in the city.

“It is one thing to describe an interview with a gorgon or a griffin, a creature who does not exist. It is another thing to discover that the rhinoceros does exist and then take pleasure in the fact that he looks as if he didn’t.”

Don’t worry Les – there are plenty of foot-in-mouth moments with me…sometime in the future…
